Focus Luara Raio
Luara Raio (Brasília, 1990) is performer, dancer and choreographer of funk sapatão. She is also the artist in focus at the second edition of Pedra Dura. Born in 1990 in the capital of Brazil, Luara trained in performing arts in Brazil, Portugal and France. Their work is rooted in a sapatão, racialised and anticolonial perspective that seeks to trigger incantations and fractures in hegemonic representations of gender, race and the body. They currently live in Paris, where they collaborate with other artists and continues their authorial research into Macumba, imaginary, incorporation and performance.

Flecha
The Flecha [Arrow] performance is activated by images-hunting animals and hunters in the constantly degenerating and regenerating body-colour. In this performance, Luara Raio dyes her face red to veil her identity. An act of digging her skin so as to escape from herself and return to the others, activating ancestries of visionary transmutations. This is a dance performed with the story of a brown, racialised, queer South American.
