DESCARGA is a project that promotes the meeting of various artistic practices through jam sessions. It is a space of total artistic freedom, where the exercise of improvisation is promoted among people from various artistic fields (dance, music, theatre, spoken word, photography, visual arts, among others). It’s a safe, leaderless
space with monthly meetings in Porto, wich arrives now to Lagos. Each jam lasts three hours, with the first thirty minutes dedicated to a collective warm-up, guided by the project’s founder, Rina Marques. The DESCARGA team also includes Sara Ferreira, a visual artist and photographer .

Rina Marques is a freelance dancer and choreographer. She is graduated by Escola Superior de Dança (Lisbon, Portugal) and Conservatório Superior de Dansa de l’Institut del Teatre (Barcelona, Spain). As of 2017, she develops an authorial work and collaboration with other artists, highlighting “Querencia”, “HANNO” and “Nova Refutação do Tempo”. Alongside her creative work, she collaborates as a performer with other artists, such as Companhia RADAR 360, Mathilde Monnier, Oskar&Gaspar, First Breath After Coma, Joan Jonas, Teatro do Mar, Útero, Purga, Sofia Dias & Vítor Roriz and Joana Providência. She is the founder of the DESCARGA Jams project, which aims to organize jam sessions and bring together various artistic practices.
