The Louvre hosted the first incarnation of Rua in 2016. The work of choreographer and dancer Volmir Cordeiro revealed the poetic potential of a body in the museum’s
floor space creating a sense of tension with Bertolt Brecht’s poems about war (The ABC of War, 1954). Now at Pedra Dura, it’s the same body, massive and seemingly disordered, powerful yet fragile. In the open air this time, Volmir incarnates the multiple bodies and faces that a road may contain. The dance is accompanied by
Washington Timbó on drums and explores the tension and alternation between war, devouring and devoured bodies and festive choreographies.
